JAKARTA, 25 MAY 2021 - Bali Province has received a total supply of 2,223,180 or 2.2 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from the central government. This was after Bali received another supply of 250,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) on Thursday (20/5) morning.

The 250,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, which had just arrived in Bali, were immediately taken and stored at the Bali Provincial Health Service Warehouse on Thursday morning at around 10.10 AM, escorted by police officers.

Head of the Bali Provincial Health Office, Dr. I Ketut Suarjaya NPPM, said that before getting an additional 250,000 doses of vaccine on Thursday, Bali had already had 1,973,180 doses of vaccine until 18 May 2021. The details include 1,264,180 doses of Sinovac Vaccine and 709,000 doses of AstraZeneca Vaccine.

"With the additional 250,000 doses sent by the Ministry of Health, now the whole Bali has received a supply of 2,223,180 doses of vaccine," explained Suarjaya.

According to Suarjaya, the supply of 250,000 doses of vaccine received yesterday will be distributed directly to regencies/cities in Bali in order to accelerate the implementation of COVID-19 vaccination to create herd immunity (communal immunity). "We are pursuing the target of 70% or 3 million of the total 4.3 million population of Bali being vaccinated," said Suarjaya.
